Key process areas

 

Each CMM level discussed above focuses on a series of Key Process Areas (KPAs). The KPA's for a particular level are the focus of enhancements. As processes are systematically implemented, it helps an organization to move to the next maturity level. Within each KPA, is a set of key practices to be taken in order to effectively follow and institutionalize the achievement of the process goals.
